Huge Hollywood star lands cameo in Bluey as series three of popular children’s cartoon arrives on CBeebies

Series three of Bluey is arriving on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer next week, and with it comes a surprise celebrity cameo.

The latest series of the hit cartoon will make its UK free-to-air premiere from Monday November 27.

The third series features a guest appearance from none other than Eva Mendes, who voices a yoga teacher in the episode Born Yesterday.

Hollywood star Eva is a huge Bluey fan, previously revealing that the beloved cartoon is her favourite show to watch with her two daughters and husband Ryan Gosling.

In an interview with Australian news outlet Now To Love, the actress revealed the family have binge watched the Australian kids’ show.

‘They love Bluey! Blue is huge in our house. Huge,’ she said, adding that her daughters Esmeralda, nine, with and Amada, seven, love to copy the games played by Bluey and her sister Bingo.

‘It’s really beautiful, I really love Bluey. They get kind of this crazy energy afterwards and they play tricks on us. They really love the frozen statue thing.

‘But they love Bluey, and we love Bluey, and we watch it a lot,’ she continued.

The children’s TV show, which tells the story of the titular Blue Heeler puppy who lives with her Mum, Dad and her little sister Bingo, has become hugely popular since its debut in 2018, and has gone on to win several awards, including a BAFTA and an Emmy Award.

CBeebies will air the first ten episodes of Series 3 including Bedroom, Promises and Omelette, with more episodes still to come.

An extra-long episode of the global TV hit show called The Sign, which is 28 minutes long, will premiere globally next year.

‘CBeebies viewers have been eagerly anticipating more episodes of Bluey so we are delighted to bring them some more content to enjoy,’ said Henrietta Hurford-Jones, Commissioner & Executive Producer of Bluey for BBC Studios Kids & Family.

‘Bluey is a global hit, with a rapidly growing fanbase in the UK. We are absolutely thrilled that so many families up and down the country have welcomed the Heelers so warmly into their living rooms and their hearts.’

Bluey Series 1 and 2 are currently available on BBC iPlayer and have been a huge hit with UK fans. Episodes of Bluey have been streamed more than 363 million times on BBC iPlayer since its launch on the platform in April 2021.
