A former WWE World Champion got blasted by Jim Cornette for his recent criticism of the AEW President, Tony Khan. The star in question is Jake Hager.
Jake Hager (fka Jack Swagger) had been a part of AEW until his departure earlier this year. He is better known for his time in WWE from 2008 to 2017 where he also became a world champion. Following his All Elite departure, Hager called the company President, Tony Khan, a ‘communist’ and was pulled from a recent event for his comments as well.
Meanwhile, wrestling veteran Jim Cornette gave his thoughts on Jake Hager’s political comments about Tony Khan. Speaking on his Drive-Thru podcast, Cornette lashed out at Hager:
“What does that have to do with the—no, don’t say this batsh*t stuff while you work for me, where you’re a communist, especially with one of the most well-paid, undeserved jobs in the history of wrestling? Why do all these simpletons think that everybody’s a communist just because they want a decent, rational world?”

Cornette further claimed that Hager is losing his brain cells:
“He’s losing brain cells first, though. What the hell? Did he get drunk celebrating his Trump victory and just blurt out a bunch of stupid s*, or does he act this way normally? And that’s why Tony Khan said, ‘Hey, quit saying stupid s*, or they’ll be canceling my shows instead of your indie bookings.'” [H/T Ringside News]
Jim Cornette said the former WWE world champion may be on CTE
Jim Cornette also assumed that the former WWE world champion might be on CTE after his political accusations against Tony Khan. Cornette also said that Hager did not make such comments about Khan when he was getting paid by the AEW CEO:
“CTE is a hell of a drug. Again, this guy had a job in AEW for a very long time, making a lot of money. He debuted on the very first Dynamite, making a lot of money. He worked for a communist. Yeah, he wasn’t complaining when Tony was giving him the money. He wasn’t complaining then.” [H/T Ringside News]
Only time will tell what the future has in store for Jake Hager after his AEW departure.
