City Road, Sydney: Rush hour traffic chaos as ‘self-harm incident’ closes down busy city street

Peak hour traffic has slowed to a crawl with massive tailbacks through Sydney’s inner-west after a ‘self-harm’ incident closed down all traffic in one direction.

City Road in Camperdown at Butlin Avenue has been shut southbound after the reported tragedy, causing traffic to back up to Parramatta Road and beyond.

Commuters have been told to expect delays in both directions due to the heavy traffic that began piling up just before 8am on Friday.

Police were at the scene of the ‘self-harm’ incident, 2BG radio has reported.
